Our Itinerary

Our departure is almost upon us and we thought you might like a preview of where we are currently planning on visiting.  At the moment, we have a basic idea of what regions of the world we were going to be visiting and when - a necessity brought on by the reality of booking long haul air travel at a reasonable price.  However, within those regions, we are almost totally flexible.  If you have any great idea on where we should go or what we should do, let us know!

So, the trip basically beaks down into five segments:

Part 1 - The USA
(June 30 - August 17)
Our trip starts off with 6-7 weeks in the US visiting friends and relatives, road tripping over 5000 miles across the western states, visiting a whole host of national parks, and camping out under the stars whenever possible.

Part 2 - Ireland/UK
(August 18 - September 1)
We then head across the pond for about two weeks to visit friends and relatives in Ireland and the UK - around London, Birmingham, and Northwest Ireland.

Part 3 - The Sub-Continent
(September 2 - Mid/Late October)
Now the real adventure starts.  We've given ourselves 7-9 weeks to explore Nepal and Northern India, with possible detours to Tibet and/or Bhutan.  Trekking in Nepal and a visit to Varanasi are the only must-dos on our list at the moment.

Part 4 - Southeast Asia
(Mid/Late October - December 14)
We have about the same amount of time to explore Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and possibly Myanmar.  Angkor Wat and some well deserved time at the beach are our must-dos here.

Part 5 - Australia
(December 15 - January 3)
We spend the last two and a half weeks of our adventure in Australia visiting friends and celebrating the holidays in Sydney.  After new years, we head back to reality unless we aren't sick of traveling or out of money yet, in which case, maybe we'll just keep going....

Let us know what you think and if you have any ideas, recommendations, etc..., email us or leave them in the comments.
